This week marks the official start of the 2009 “Stuck at Prom” Contest sponsored by Duck brand Duct Tape, and it also happens to bring back some sweet memories from my first year working in college admissions at Columbia University.  One of the most memorable admissions essays I read was from a Minnesota girl who wrote about the construction of her duct tape prom dress–she even sent along a picture so that I could fully appreciate her designing skills.  And now, you too, have a chance at designing your very own duct tape creation and taking home the scholarship prize of $3,000.

The contest ends June 8, 2009, and here’s the link to more information about rules and stuff.  If you end up making a duct tape design, will you please send me your photos to post on the website?  Here are a couple past creations to get those creative juices flowing…

Those who know me well can attest to the fact that I am a hoodie girl, so when I saw Champion’s Hoodie Remix I was just a little bit excited and had to share it with you.  So here’s the deal, visit Champion’s Hoodie Remix website where you can design your own fabulous hoodie.  The contest ends March 31st, so you’ve got some time to really finesse your design.  Once you submit your hoodie to the gallery, users can vote for their favorites, and the designer of the winning hoodie will get their hoodie produced as well as some $$$.  May the best hoodie win!
